CURRENT INITIATIVES

Civic organizations and individuals are invited to support the women of Arise Collective by donating much-needed items or organizing group donation drives. Whether you contribute individually or coordinate efforts with your community, your involvement helps ensure women in our programs have access to the essential items they need to rebuild their lives.

Read below to learn more about our ongoing donation needs.

Flatlay of eco-friendly hygiene products in a basket on a white surface, promoting sustainability.

Effective November 2025, women participating in a designated reentry program will receive a Women’s First Aid Reentry Kit on the day of their release from North Carolina correctional facilities.

As of April 2026, this initiative has expanded to provide Reentry First Aid Kits to all women exiting North Carolina correctional facilities.

These kits send a powerful message: You are seen, valued, and supported. This will be an ongoing need, and even a small donation of one or two items can make a big difference.

Help us stock the kits by contributing supplies or organizing a drive in your community.

Queen for the day baskets

When a woman is released from prison and enters the Arise Collective Women’s Reentry Project, she is honored as “Queen for the Day (QFTD).” On her very first day, she receives a beautifully prepared basket filled with hygiene and self-care items—symbolizing dignity, celebration, and a fresh start.

As part of this welcoming experience, she is also treated to a meal at a restaurant of her choice and supported in shopping for essential clothing and groceries to begin rebuilding her life.

We invite you to support this meaningful moment by donating items for our Queen for the Day baskets. Every contribution helps a woman feel seen, valued, and supported on her reentry journey.

MATCH Program Needs

Mothers and Their Children (MATCH) is a program that offers incarcerated mothers intensive and ongoing supportive parenting training. Mothers in prison participating in the MATCH program have the ability to visit with their children more often and for longer periods of time, which occurs inside a comfortable and cheerful room called the MATCH Center. Instead of correctional officers, these visits are supervised by trained volunteers, allowing for a more personal and comfortable visitation experience.

Support the Mothers and Their Children (MATCH) program by donating items that help make family visits more meaningful and comfortable. Needs include:

  • Toys for the MATCH Center (ranging from blocks to teen-friendly tech like speakers and LED lights)
  • Birthday gifts, school supplies and backpacks during back-to-school season
  • Hygiene products for the mothers year-round.
  • Airline miles are also appreciated to support travel-related needs.

Holiday Meal Ministry

Each year, Arise Collective honors the women in our program with meaningful meals during select holidays—offering nourishment, connection, and celebration. In the past, volunteers cooked and delivered these meals. For the upcoming year, we are shifting to a new model in partnership with a local chef, who will prepare delicious, high-quality meals as part of a special dinner experience for the women we serve.

We are now seeking sponsorships and monetary donations to help cover the cost of these meals for all of the women in our program. By sponsoring a holiday meal, you are helping create moments of joy, comfort, and dignity during what can be a difficult season for our women.
