About This Role

Residential Welcome Crew members help a woman feel welcomed and cared for on the day she moves into one of our reentry homes — pairing with a staff member or House Manager to make her first hours in her new home feel calm and supported rather than overwhelming. Because you’ve walked a similar road, you’re able to offer something staff alone can’t: a valuable, lived-experience presence that helps her settle common first-day nerves and feel truly welcomed.

What You’ll Do

• Greeting her and helping her feel welcome when she arrives
• Accompany her and staff to lunch and to the grocery store – keeping the conversation easy and low-pressure
• Accompanying her to the Collective Boutique to shop for what she needs
• Being a friendly, familiar face throughout the day as she gets oriented

Requirements

• Participants must have completed at least 30 days in the Arise Collective Residential Reentry program before volunteering for this role
• A brief orientation training will be provided prior to the event

NOTE

Since the new participant’s exact arrival time isn’t certain, volunteers should remain available throughout the day.
